Sharing experience in the implementation of water saving technologies and improving water accounting

In order to improve water management plans, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources and the GEF agency, a workshop was organised on the topic “Sharing experience in the implementation of water saving technologies and improving water accounting”. The workshop is aimed at demonstrating the water saving technologies and methodologies used in Uzbekistan and consists of two parts:

Part 1 was held on February 26, 2017 in the city of Tashkent for the basin of the Syrdarya River. More than 70 specialists from the Administration of Irrigation Systems (AIS) and Basin Irrigation Systems Administration (BISA), Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Amelioration and others took part in the seminar. The participants of the seminar had the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of the Chirchik-Okhangoron BISA and Buzsu AIS.

A new water meter was handed over to Chirchik-Okhangoron BISA by the project manager, Dr. Caroline Milow.

Soon we will tell you more about the 2nd part of the seminar, which will be held in the city of Samarkand for the Amudarya River Basin.
