Co-funding from the EU Delegation to Uzbekistan

In December 2015, Transboundary Water Management in Central Asia Programme acquired co-funding from the EU Delegation to Uzbekistan within the framework of the programme “Sustainable management of water resources in rural areas in Uzbekistan”. The Programme would be responsible for component 1: “National policy framework for water governance and integrated water resources management and supply part”, endowed with EUR 12 million by the EU. The contract (‘Special Conditions’) between EU and GIZ was signed on 22 December 2015.

The programme brings together three components that are closely interconnected: shaping a national policy framework for water governance and integrated water resources management (component 1 implemented by GIZ), technical capacity building (component 2 implemented by UNDP) and awareness raising (component 3 implemented by the EU Delegation to Uzbekistan).
